In a rather heartbreaking development, a 33-year-old woman from Mutorashanga was arrested and charged with infanticide after she buried her new-born baby alive. According to New Zimbabwe, Margaret Musarapasi of Plot 12 Chihamba, Mutorashanga is reported to have given birth to a bouncing baby boy before she allegedly dug a shallow pit in which she buried him alive. Musarapasi appeared before Chinhoyi magistrate Tendai Banda facing one count of infanticide. A 13-year-old boy from Mupata suburb in Chinhoyi is battling for life at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals after a quarrel with his parents’ neighbour over trespassing turned bloody today. A man has been jailed after a second-hand ambulance carrying a family was stopped by police near a supermarket. Blessing Mukaukirwa, 32, of no fixed address, was stopped near Asda in Harpurhey, Manchester, on Wednesday. The Zimbabwean national appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court where he admitted offences of driving while disqualified and with no insurance. He was jailed for 32 weeks after his convictions activated a suspended sentence for other driving offences. Traffic officers had earlier tweeted that the vehicle arrived at the supermarket with blue flights flashing and was reportedly carrying a family.

Chief Mahenye (34), heading one of the largest chieftainships in Chipinge has disrupted the academic career of a girl whom he has married while she was writing her O Level Exams. Chipinge Times cannot disclose the name of the girl who attended Mahenye school for ethical reasons but Chief Mahenye whose real name is Thomas Jojo confirmed the story. POLICE in Bulawayo are looking for Tinashe Chafachaipa, a 27-year-old man who allegedly drugged a friend and sodomised him after celebrating New Year. Chafachaipa disappeared after his victim made a report to the police on Thursday last week. Confirming the incident, Bulawayo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said Chafachaipa was on the run. He said the complainant suspected that Chafachaipa had sexually abused him when he woke up naked on his bed the following day. The aggravated indecent assault occurred on the 1 January 2021 at around 9pm. Chafachaipa invited the complainant to his house to drink beer. A 30-year-old man who hails from Victoria Falls allegedly assaulted two police officers at a filling station appeared in court yesterday. iHarare established from The Chronicle that, Constables Prosper Zingi and Nollen Mhanga of Victoria Falls Police Station were assaulted by 30-year-old Tinashe Macharaga at Marange Fuel Sevice Station. The two policemen were deployed at the filling station to control queues and enforce social distancing. Macharaga is alleged to have skipped the queue and when Constables Zingi and Mhlanga told him to go back and join the queue he became violent. Macharaga allegedly grabbed a pair of handcuffs from the officers as they tried to arrest him before he assaulted them. The officers later managed to subdue and arrest Macharaga. Appearing before
MALAWI’s homelands security minister, Richard Chimwendo-Banda, has signed the extradition papers for self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and wife Mary. According to that country’s Information Minister Gospel Kazako, the attorney-general took the signed extradition papers to court on Monday, 14 December so the court could rule or issue warrants of arrests. Five warrants of arrest were issued after the couple fled South Africa while out on bail. They’re facing fraud, theft and money laundering charges amounting to R102 million and three rape charges.
