Jailed rapist Robert Martin Gumbura has died at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison. Gumbura who was serving a 40-year jail sentence (later reduced to 20) over four counts of rape reportedly succumbed to Covid-19 related complications. He was on his way to the hospital when he died. Investigative journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono confirmed the development on his official Twitter handle. He wrote; Zengeza West MP Job Sikhala also confirmed Robert Gumbura’s death. Sikhala revealed that before he died from Covid-19 he was suffering from a mental illness. “I am shocked that Gumbura passed on a few minutes ago at Chikurubi Maximum Prison. Daisy Mtukudzi, widow to the late music legend Oliver ‘Tuku’ Mtukudzi has refuted claims that she inherited all her late husband’s money and estate.
